Fishing poles were a step in the right direction toward CF telescopic poles for us. We used Unger Teleplus poles and I thought they were the best. Got into Tosh's conversion and couldn't believe the difference - really light and rigid. The only disadvantage was having to run around collecting stray sections where they were abandoned which added to cleaning time.
We still use the fishing poles for gutter and fascia cleans and the missus uses the last 2 top sections and brush to do bottoms when she's out with me.
We now have moved on to Gardiners SLX and CLX poles as they are quicker to work with when doing residential.

But I also use an SLX 18 and CLX 27 foot, and for most of my routine work I use Jeff Brimbles Ninja, which I'm really coming around to thinking is brilliant pole.  It's so quick; no clamps; light, robust, inexpensive - everything I want in a pole.

No, mate.  I don't use the CLX 27 as often as I did use the SLX 18 (I'm now using the Ninja for my everyday work).  My ethos is to use the lightest, stiffest, quickest (phnaar phnaar) pole for the majority of my work which is ground and 1st floor.

Hence I got an SLX 18 and a CLX 27.  I personally wouldn't use a CLX 27 routinely.  It's too heavy and to wobbly compared to the carbon fibre poles.

Most forums do not allow links to other similar forums.  Google.  You'll find this is called forum etiquette, and good manners.

However, if someone - like I have - in the past, created a post here, showing people how to make their own water fed poles from fishing poles, and post links to fishing pole suppliers, THEN THAT WOULD BE FINE.

However, to create a post in another window cleaning forum, and then complain because you can't link that other WINDOW CLEANING FORUM, to this forum, is wrong and against generally accepted interweb forum rules.

I belong to an alcohol recovery forum, and it's also not allowed to link to other non affiliated recovery forums from that particular forum.

So, to answer your question, the point of a forum is to exchange information, but not to advertise other similar forums from it.

I just thought I'd clear up the misunderstanding.

Dead easy, get a Ron Thompson Carp Gangster pole (or something similar), then go to a fishing tackle shop and look for something (odds and ends of extensions) which you can shove up the end of it to take it higher.


You'll loose the first two or three thin sections of the fishing pole until you come to a diameter to shove an angle adapter in for your brush. Thats a simplified version, but there aint to much more to it really. And it gets you up like this for sub £200..............


Pros.....
Very light
Easy to work even for one person. Can shove an elastic on the end and go Carp fishing if it rains.
Cheap
Cons..
 Delicate
 If broken an new pole is easier to buy for £60 rather than trying to source a replacement section.

The reason why no one goes on about it is that once you have converted one it is done, no need to harp on about it, you have a pole that can reach as high as you need that was to the original post

I have a easy way to repair broken sections as well that I may or not post
