Basic WFP Technique/Questions.
« on: October 16, 2005, 11:27:28 am »
Hi guys,
I know its probably been done a hundred times but can someone please explain the WFP technique on domestics (basically from the moment you put the pole towards the window).

Also, whats the difference in technique between the first clean and subsequent cleans.

Finally, been looking at Trolley systems......just how much cleaning will you get from 25L?Doing average size houses....tops only.

Again, these questions probably seem pretty dumn but I'm a traditional w.cleaner from a family of traditional w.cleaners but I'm giving major thought on going WFP......main problem though I drive a 4dr Fiesta!!!

Hi Dave

We clean with wfp, mostly commercial some domestic.  Live in Omagh Co Tyrone if you want to spend some time and see results of wfp on domestic houses just get us a shout.

Dave, there are others better qualified than me to advise on technique.
As for water usage, I do mostly domestic tops only and get through about 6 containers a day. 2 x25 ltr and 4 x20 ltrs. I'v just had a towbar fitted to the escort van, the containers go in a small trailor. Dai

Hi guys,
I know its probably been done a hundred times but can someone please explain the WFP technique on domestics (basically from the moment you put the pole towards the window).

I've been on WFP for a week, so I'm probably not qualified to instruct; but it's not rocket science and no-doubt someone will correct me.

First Clean with WFP:

1.  Scrub all the frames on each window.

2.   Go back and clean the glass (this will have given the frames enough time to stop dripping.

3.  Rinse.  I do this by both lightly stroking the glass in a light-downward motion.  Then I remove the brush from the glass and 'wiggle' the water jets down the glass.  If it's a window with a fan-light, I do that first, then rinse the windows next to it and finally the pane below it; just to give it a little bit of time to stop dripping.

Subsequent cleans with WFP.

1.  A quick wash over the top of the frame and sides.

2.  Wash glass.

3.   Quick rinse.

Can anyone improve on my method?

HI I prefer to scrub the top of the frame like a lunatic on the first clean (you can relax a little on subsequent cleans.)

I think it’s very difficult to avoid the top of the frame and if any dirty water drips down it will look horrible best to give it a dam good scrub then you won’t have to worry about it.

You might not be wrong the last new house I took on had vents in every frame all 25 of them.

I couldn’t avoid them all so I scrub them like F`n Bugg*ry there was a few drips on the first clean that I wiped with scrim but on the next clean they were ok.

I think if you give them a dam good scrub every time you do them the dust doesn’t get a chance to build up inside the vent.

If the window has vents I just do the 1" bevel bit at the top, just above the frame. When I do this the brush is always on the glass and the bevelled bit gets done at the same time. When I have tried scrubbing the whole top frame I often run onto the brick work above. Bad news for runs. DAi
