Might sound like a stupid question, but could someone tell me how many springs should be in a kingston valve (old style) as used on a prochem (I think) swivel head stair tool?

If its only 1, then I'm at a loss of how to put it back together, cos when I do the trigger doesn't move cos its sitting tight against the bolt at the bottom.
If its 2, then it makes more sense, but I've lost a spring!

The piston goes in first then the spring. The spring rests against the bottom nut.
