I park on a hill to fill up, cab pointing downwards; so on the one occasion where I have overfilled, it all ended up in the cab, gushing out of the front doors.

The egg timer solution means this hasn't happened again.

I really need to get a transfer hose instead of the garden hose I'm using.  It takes 20 minutes to fill a 400 litre tank.  So I generally start filling it, start the timer, and then get a coffee and sort out my work for the next day.
