Not really sold any of our old kit so would appreciate a bit of guidance and opinions on the value of a machine i am looking to sell.

Prochem Cheyene approx 7 years old in good general condition, few scuffs and scrapes from lifting in and out of vehicle. Reguarly cleaned out including waste tank.
2 recent vacs
160 psi pump under 12 months

The machine has been a back so pump and vac`s had little use.

Poss include twin jet glidemaster wand.

Comes with heater, the dial on the thermostat has broke but luckily the heater was on, so still gives exceptional heat.

I was looking in the region of £600 to £700 as thought would make a decent machine for new starter or as back up unit.

What do you think am i in the right area.

Depends how quickly you want to sell it.  I wouldn't pay that for a twin vac portable of that age/description, but maybe 400-500.  Trouble is, the market is flooded with kit like this.  If it were a more recent triple vac machine you'd get a grand or more maybe?

Trouble is everyone wants a bargain so extractors albeit an essential part of cleaning get a rum deal with 2nd hand values, things like buffers even worse but specialised items like a minitex holds its value very well but the market is flooded (pun intended) with HWE and buffers bringing the 2nd hand prices crashing down.

IMO a 7 year old machine approx £300-£350

I saw a miniflex 2 vac which are approx 12-18 months old sold on ebay for £600.00

put it on ebay with no reserve and you'll get what its worth. simple really. or search ebay for the machine and see what they have been sold for in the past.

Must say i would go with the 400 hundred pound mark too.

Dereks idea to ebay it and see what you get..

If you want to get rid of it then let it go mate and a few quid in yer pocket too

It`s been a good machines and served me well, i have had its value in the work it has done. But i need to shift some gear i have too much kit and need to create space to have an office built into part of the double garage.

if someone gave me £500 for machine and wand that would be great.

The unit has been well maintained and 2 newish vacs and pump meen its a good starting point for a newbie to try their hand.

I spoke to the guy who maintains my machines and he seemed to think it was worth around £700.00 in it`s condition.

Although i know in the real world somethings value is only what somebody is willing to pay.

N o doubt the cheyenne I have is not as good as yours but I,m waiting for someone o pick it up - I gave them it ! .It was my main machine   a number of years ago but has stood around for years. In working order but doesnt owe me anything.

Are they standard Prochem parts fitted or different speck from original purchase

For instance if they are Chinese vacs no longer a true prochem

John it sounds like a good piece of kit so take some good photos and try it on here(selling section) and ebay   it really is a case of suck it and see.............Regards Alan(swindon........centre of the unknown universe)
