It is highly unlikely to be suede particularly if it is a whole suite.  Suede is very rare and usually only single items.  The suite is likely to have cost £7000.00 or above if it is genuine suede.  Check with your microscope and check the backing and these will tell you clearly what you are dealing with.

It is probably alcantara or microsuede or buffalo or one of the other fabric equivalents.
Thealcantara website has some cleaning instructions

Hope this helps

Hi stephen

if it faux suede . i have been doing some restaurant chairs that are full of grease and have been spraying them with a high alkaline solution scrubbing lightly and then extracting  with warm water , and they have come up well . you have to spray them evenly or they water stain .

seriously?

never noticed that before. faux suede is usually dry before i leave with a blower on them for 10 mins.

i agree though that they come up amazing, no matter what they look like to start with.
