Well, done a bit today using my new gear, got a van mount/650ltr and it seems it'll be good. I'm sure I'll probably be slower for a short while until I sort out a system of work but reasonably happy. I have noticed that some windows have spotting regardless of how many times I clean them or rinse but hopefully this will go after the second clean. I have been cleaning these windows for a few years with detergents etc and the dirt on the frames will be disturbed I suppose. Here's looking forward to speeding up (and my new slx25.. the glass fibre xtel pole is quite heavy after a while !).

Once you have got rid of all the crud on the frames wfp is brilliant,  you will not look back.

The first 3 months or so will be slower but get progressively faster as you will slowly clear away the chemicals.  But in 6 months time you won't believe your speed and how good the windows will look.

Stick an extreme brush on the slx 25, it is surprisingly spectacular, put the glass fibre in the bin or give it to someone you don't like.

Yes it might take 3 or 4 circuits of your round before you really get to know the best way to tackle particular jobs.  It may also take that long to figure out which ones are a drain on your business and pass them on.  A job that is OK for trad may not be OK for WFP and vice versa.  It's usually about access and location but may occasionally be about window type.  You now have the kit to make yourself some serious money if you wish to go that way.

Like everyone is saying, I'm just going to be patient and not expect too much straight away. Hoping that my customers will stick with me while the changeover is happening, they're used to a perfect job every time but I am dropping a note every time explaining it takes a few go's to get them to the standard I'm happy with.

Hi Martin,

I saw in your previous posts  that you were in the RAF Fire Service,I was also in a while back,I left in 97
and joined the Defence Fire Service.Because of the shift pattern I was able to set up my own round
which I do 4 days a week.
I've been using WFP 4 years now and I haven't looked back.It's a cracking job,I really enjoy it.
Good luck with WFP,it will be the best decision you have made,you may lose one or two as they don't like change,but you will gain more than you lose.You will also be suprised how quick you become.It doesn't take long once you've been round a few times ie where to park the van and which is the best
way to lay the hose.

Hi Jay, so you went over to the darkside and joined the black death ! I'm suprised I never met you because I was in since early 88 and did 22 years. Sometimes you just do different camps and never meet up. It was natural to set up full time after spending 18 years with part-time rounds and I'm so glad I did. The wfp is just the next step and I think I'm going to like it. Plenty of frame cleaning and lots of rinsing seems to be doing the job, it helps I have a 650ltr tank so water conservation isn't a priority. Thanks for everyones encouragement.
