Is it fully telescopic?
The Super-Max61 (66ft reach) is a fully telescopic pole with full incremental adjustment on all sections - just like all the rest of the Super-Max range. As has been said though it is made from the very best Japanese high modulus carbon fibre. Unlike some other high level poles on the market, the high modulus material is used on all 10 sections rather than having a multi-modulus construction which uses less high modulus material.
Although this pole is only 11ft longer than the standard carbon fibre 50ft Super-Max we felt that it was necessary to use this superior material to help control a pole that is being used on 6-7 storey high work. For those that have used poles at this height there is a world of difference between controlling them at 50ft and then 61ft. We carried out many tests and made several poles with multi-modulus construction and were just not satisfied with their ultimate performance.
Unfortunately this does mean that it is a lot more expensive than the rest of the Super-Max range, but this is purely down to the quality of the carbon fibre. I did consider using carbo-titanium cloth, but this would have raised the price again and whilst it would have been stronger it would not have made it much stiffer or lighter. Incorporating Kevlar into the mix was another option, but unfortunately due to the humidity absorption capacity of Kevlar this would prove unsuitable for water fed pole work as it could lead to composite deterioration over time.
I hope that this has answered your questions.
