I've started dog walking in the morning. one hours walk, four dogs £40 when my son comes home from Uni next week he will take it over.

I keep thinking its a good little business, the only one I have found that is better than window cleaning. Got a little internet business selling stuff but its never come to anything because the competition is so fierce, might knock it on the head.

Special Sergeant with staffordshire police,

It doesn't help with the cashflow but I get to close doors on rooms with naughty people inside sometimes after having a tussle and a few chases involving flashing lights. I get to cuff people up pretty and unpretty but it floats my boat.

And its a break from the windows.

Dean.

if your window cleaning with wfp then its got to be fascia, soffit and  conservatory roof cleaning.i have a steady stream of these over the spring/summer months.i usually book them in next time i clean their windows for existing customers.good add on jobs IMO.

I have 5 rounds with a good mixture of work with some commercial/large country accounts/flats and very compact cheaper work with very good cashflow most of the time.

in fact im very happy with the way my rounds are shaping up at the moment.cheques landing on my mat almost daily, payments through BACS also regular.ive never had such a thriving business!! ;D ;D ;D

going wfp and adopting a much better attitude to work coupled with a  sign written van, business cards/leaflets/uniform etc ,etc has made a massive difference to me.ive been window cleaning for 18 years.

i did used to do a bit of outside painting for a few customers years ago but im too busy cleaning most days now.
price higher/work harder!

I've tried a few different sidelines to help even out the cashflow in the rainy months, but found most interfered more with my work during the busy summer than they helped during the wet winter.
My mrs has started a business making fancy organic soap & I'm hoping it will have taken off enough by the winter that I can help her on wet days & still be earning.

Yes i meant jobs totally different from window cleaning.

Keep them coming!!! its interesting to see that a lot of window cleaners actually have some other sort of cash income to help out!!

I know a couple of guys who do night security. Not great pay, but regular. They just sleep late & start their window cleaning after lunch,..

I do often think that it depends where you are in the country 'cos sometimes the rain and wind gets me down- inclement Yorkshire weather is harsher than most of England, especially up on the tops, though I knows loads of people who are more weather hardened than me. Who gives a flying duck what the public thinks of wcs, you have to earn what you can when you can, as long as it's an honest living.Nowadays I  trade as cleaning services and attempt to stick to that but more power to those that do something completely different- I would if I could think of something. £40 for dog walking sounds like a welcome break Vince!!
I once met a bloke who had a drain cleaning round- no commercial hoses- he just went round cleaning out traps and maintaining them once a year: proactive opposed to crisis management, good selling point for add on services I always think.
Done some chimney sweeping by the way!!

I work part time as a Detention Officer ( jailer ) with Wiltshire Police, lots of late shifts/weekend work/nightshifts helps especially in the winter, and is well paid.
My kids have grown up so I enjoy the difference in the jobs & don't mind the unsociable hours.  :)

Swindon, Wiltshire.
