Hi All

Havn't bought a portable machine for years but looking at the new machines they seem very worthy of consideration. But all use 2 power cords, on recent jobs I've had a quick look around to see where I could plug in 2 cords if I was using one of these type of machines. There always appears to be one in the hallway which is great but then it becomes a bit of a search, wondered how you guys with these machines got on is it a bit of a problem or something that is easy once you get used to it.

Never try putting 2 leads into the same socket because the smell of something slightly burning normally gives the game away.
You get used to it playing hunt the socket but I've yet to find it a real problem.
And carry a few extension reels preferably with yellow line, and always totally unreel them, because otherwise heat builds up in them (with them being wound up).

I always make a bee line for the cooker socket, if available, I plug the cable in that supplies power to the 3 Kw heater. If it isn't available I don't worry too much.

I never let the customer plug my machine in though, because all to often they'll plug it into a double socket, which is also plugged into a double socket

This is one of the reasons i went for twin vac one socket needed, Then one for the inline heater. OK theres loss of vac over a 3 vac portie. But i like me heat< This helps drying times so ive been told.

I keep two extension reels in the van just in case but usually have no trouble finding sockets if i get on there drive or outside there door etc..

What heat do you achieve?

Mine gets up to 70-80 degrees.....

Plug 'em both in nearest double socket.
Heat on when I'm prepping heat off and
engines on when working. Anytime I stop
engines off heat on. Find it loses very little
heat wise in between.

If you are using a high powered porty as a porty and placing it out side the door then I don't really see a problem BUT if you are using it Truck Mounted then you start to stretch the lengths of extensions, I used to use 2 on my Bane as I had 2 vac blowers and it was a pain!!!

Don't forget Eddie you can often go vertical to find a plug easily-there is often one on the landing- and that is usually nearer than heading off into a kitchen or living room.
