Just starting to get a problem or two with the clamps on my SLX 25

when closing to clamp the pole section the clamp then springs open again allowing the section to spin -
this can be intermittent while clamping the section or while actually working on a window so the section
suddenly falls down...

looking at the clamp there seems to be wear on the lever and barrel nut - so has any1 else had this
and can confirm that changing the lever and nut will resolve the problem ?

I've not had any problems with the clamps myself, but I'd say if it looks like you still have room for adjustment within the clamp and that the handle and barrel nut look damaged, then replacing these parts will fix the problem. You could try swapping some parts from other clamps on the same pole.

I know one way these clamps get damaged is by over tightening, they just need to pinch the pole.

I had the same problem with clamps on 18ft, they open and close with a flick and somtimes come undone when pole is up, changed the clamp, bolt and barrel nut but still the same, I think the more the pole wears the close the gap in the clamp gets and makes it looser...

These issues usually only affect poles when they are getting 'on a bit'. In my email to Darran, I did mention that one way to help prevent this ever happening is to put just a drop of lubricating oil (such as 3in1) on the cam bed of the clamp body (make sure none gets on the pole section surface). This will help prevent wear from the dirt and grit that can get between the clamp cam and body. It will also make operating the clamps as smooth as possible.
