james you are really boring, you constantly post links to other sites that we can all find for ourselves, you hardly ever offer advice just links, if you don't like this forum just leave simples, I never received any email and I don't hide it so your assumptions are are wrong, and even if I did I couldn't care less, just ignore them and move on ;)

Does it matter?

And has anyone read the small print re promotional emails?

Who cares anyway?

Its hardly as though we've been spammed to death with thingy enlargement pill emails.

Dean.

It does Matter, at no time did i agree that my E.mail will be sold to other companies.

I suggest you log off and take legal action if it bothers you that much fella.

I'd also thank my lucky stars that this was a big enough problem in my life to worth mithering about in the bewitching hour of a sunday too if I were you.

If your e-mail address is displayed publicly here, or even if its in your signature, it can easily be "spidered" by automatic software & complied into a list.

If it bothers you, there is an option in your profile to hide your e-mail.

I got the e-mail too but wasn't clever enough to put two and two together and assume that CIU had sold my e-mail address.

Oh well. not to worry ;D

Hi,

I can categorically state that we DO NOT sell/pass on our members email addresses, not only is this against the law and forum rules but we would not want to upset our thousands of members.

Unfortunately others can visit the site and if your email address isn't hidden they can get access to it.

We strongly recommend that if you do not wish to have your email displayed that you go to your profile settings and choose "do not show email address".

I hope this doesn't cause to many problems for you and we can 100% state that email addresses ARE NOT passed on to anyone else. We are not owned by Ionics and we are an independently run forum and longer do we own and operate Express Cleaning Supplies either.

We value each and every member of the forum and take this opportunity to thank you for all your posts and input to the forum making it a fantastic tool and network for all. The forum is constantly growing and we now have over 1 million posts!!

Many thanks
