who last year i put in touch with my sister to clean her house and business premises. Sorry i can't remember who you are but i know you use this site as this is how we made contact. Thank you so much form our family for helping my brother in law after his fall from a ladder climbing in to the loft space. Your quick thinking obviously help reduce the severity of his injuries by getting help to him as quickly as possible. After being airlifted to hospital i can thankfully say that Sean's back is not broken. He has many broken ribs a punchered lung and a cracked vertebra. He will be in hospital for some time yet but from our family we would like to thank you very much for what you did, the phone call, the help with the paramedics and securing the house after Sean went to hospital. I spoke with my nephew last night  he said he fell less than 12ft and any thurther and god knows what would have happen. Its ironic he was using a ladder and you are on water fed pole, the dangers of ladders must never be underestimated. Thank you.

Its incedents like this that highlight the dangers of working at height.

12 feet is nothing, yet the damage could easily be extensive.

I still struggle to understand why guys still insist on working from ladders but each to their own.

Yes, as the advert & advice from HSE, and the phrase "SHATTERED LIVES" . Some of us take notice, others dont, could say more, but wont. Hope the guy has a speedy recovery, and not to much long lasting complications. we work on large Chemical sites on Teesside, ICI, etc, and they have been very safety concious for 50 years, one guy had a fall from 2 foot and died, so goes to show ant work at height is dangerous. We were cleaning 4th floor windows last week, on a office block that has 5500 windows, and a manager came out and thought our 50 foot pole was dangerous way to clean windows, our staff said " if you know or come out with a safer way, let us know and we will use it, fact."
