Red wine stain removal
« on: October 07, 2005, 07:56:49 pm »
Hi all, I have a red wine spillage to remove next week which I have not seen yet. The customer says it covers a splash-area of about 2metres!!! I usually use Alltecs Specialist Stain Remover which contains Hydrogen Peroxide
but it is a long drawn-out process. What do you all recommend for removal over a large area?

Have to agree  ;)

For red stain removal Wineaway is by far the best product I have come across,it's 100% safe, in most cases quick & easy and can be used on lots of other berry type stains and even coffee & blood.

It can be used on most textiles even silks and is often used as a pre-wash for troublesome stains on clothes and linen, take a look here:

Job done folks ;) I went to have a look at it today and it was nowhere near as bad as the customer implied. I used Alltecs Specialist Stain remover and the wine disappeared as I was applying it. A forty five minute job including extraction for fifty quid. ;D

Hi Woodman,

Many thanks for answering. I did read what you had said that earlier on the thread but just hoped that things had changed.

It seems a dear way of buying this product in those small containers especially this time of the year.

If you get to know any more info on this product could you please let me know.

Kind regards Tony.

Not sure how your using it but I use it a lot and while it will not remove everything, everytime, it can be a real time saver on some jobs.

I've been in and out in 30 minutes on some jobs where it's just a fresh wine stain. On tougher jobs I have applied it ,left it and returned another day to remove the stain. Sometimes it will not take it all out but enough to satisfy and on others it does not work at all and you have to go down another route and start upping the strengths applied.

What it won't do is any damage! so always start with it first.

We always HWE first to draw most of it out (which also gets rid of any chemicals they may have used!), sometimes it lifts with just this method - although more so on carpets than fabric.

When the extraction process has finished, simply apply Hydrogen Peroxide (6 or 7%), leave for a few minutes and then blow dry off. 9 times out of 10 it will disappear. This is the safest, effective and cheapest way  ;D
