Ive just changed all my 4 wkly jobs, on george, to 6 wkly.
Ive found that most people dont want their windows cleaned that often.
Most of my new work is 8 wkly, at a slightly better price, which i prefer tbh.
Is everyone else finding this, or are your custies happy with a 4 wk clean ??

Change them back quick! You've just devalued your round by nearly a third and made more work for yourself.  ???

i was always late anyway  ;D
are you guys wfp or trad, as i find the windows arent that dirty anyway even after 6 wks.
also are you in a town/city which gets alot of traffic residue, as im semi rural, all the widows get is dust and bird poo

think that is a bad move tbh,i would of just said to each custy would you like you windows cleaned every 4wk or 8wks but 8wk is a little extra (whatever you think is fair, i go with 40% extra)

This what i wanted to do,
I hate going every 4 wks, its so boring going to the same houses all the time.
I havnt been doing 4 wkly for along time, only just changed them all on george.
Putting the jobs 6 wkly allows me to fit in all new work easily

If you find it boring going to the same houses all the time then maybe you should think of a change in job!!

A window cleaning round is about going to the same houses all the time if we never we would not make much money ;D ;D

I run a business to make a healthy profit, not keep myself amused or worrry about wether the windows are dirty enough.  ;)

Steve nothing wrong with going from 4 to 6 weekly....for me 8 weekly is the ticket...I agree that 4 weekly can be 'boring' but like someone has said just think about how much work you have robbed from yourself..perhaps you have already and are ok with the change.

I doubt there is very much difference between 4 and 6 weekly effort wise.

Cheers and good luck.

Dave.

Every-four-weeks is fine if you're charging £5 or £6 pound, but once you start charging proper money and you're turning up every-four-weeks, some customers start saying stuff like 'Is it that time already?'.

I prefer to charge a bit extra with a longer cleaning frequency.  All my larger stuff is on every-other-month, and every-other-month I have two weeks of really quite well paid work.

The only downside is, it takes longer to build up this way.

75% of my work is 8 weekly  its the way the domestic market is turning,  maybe not as fast in some areas.

be interested to see the response to this question in say 3 years time

Mostly monthly with mine with roughly  10% on bi monthly. If I was starting from scratch today then I would only offer 6 weekly. Next month going to start turning mine over to bi monthly as getting loads of new work. Any new customers these days are given a monthly and a higher bi monthly price - 25% still go for the monthly option though. The current ones I'm offering bi monthly to from June will be left a slip asking if they want to stay monthly or for xxx amount more swap to bi monthly. XXX amount will either be 33% or 50% extra - doing it gradually over 4 months so will see how it goes. Absolutely hissing it down here in Chester so very bored in me van may forget it today as had a good month and deserve a day off - however spotted a car showroom that defo needs a windie so will go and see them if it don't stop raining.

For me about 6 weekly is about right.  Usually the windows are pretty clean after a month.  Although on saying this, if my customers stood for it, I'd be quite happy doing them monthly.

I'm with you, plus there's less resistance to price increases, the customers are paying less over the year, and you can have a bigger round.

I'm with Tosh on this one. I was 4 weeks to the day when I started 20 years ago. I tried 6 weekly but that didn't work well. Now most of my work is monthly to the date and new work is every 2 months or even on a call when you are ready basis. These customers pay a premium but I price all work up now like it is a one-off anyway.

Charge more go less and they will appreciate you more.
