I think you are about right the carpet has died.

It sounds that the vanish may have bleached the carpet if it has then there is little you can do to reverse it.

I have seen this on a navy blue carpet about 1 1/2" thick. ( The carpet not the sick)  The carpet had a pale ceam dinner plate sized spot.

It makes me very angry that this keeps happening. I am sure Im not the only one.

Not much hope unless you know a good colourist.

One of my customers used vanish on their blue carpet and ended up with 4 orange patches which I have taken photo's of to show my customers.

Had one a while ago, she used  Vanish Foam Spray on cat sick and it turned a 6 month old beige carpet to bright orange, I managed to fade it using Extracta Stainaway but couldn't shift it completly.

I now carry a little digital camera in the van just to photograph such things, also use it to photograph any damage to suites and carpets before cleaning.......just in case!!

Hi Guys,

I'm pretty sure these stains are being changed by the oxidising bleach which seems to have been added to Vanish.

Try dabbing on neat acid rinse.

Cheers,

Only today I came accross another customer who used vanish on her beige 80/20 carpet, she now has some lovely white spots everywhere.
Can't the manufacturers be sued for misrepresen >:(tation?
