oil stain on polyprop been treated with vanish
« on: May 24, 2011, 04:19:46 pm »
Been to quote a commercial job today.

Someone had trod oily footmarks accross a polyprop carpet, custy has attempted to clean it up with vanish and it now has big grey shadow stains instead.

Going to have a crack tomorrow evening, will try all the usual but just wondered if anyone had a top tip.

Might resort to caustic soda as a last resort ! Green cleaner of the year !  ;D

Cheers Paul

Rinse, rinse and rinse again. Get as much crap out as you can and see what's left. I suspect pile damage and or dis-colouration

Hmmmm... i may try a good powerful pre spay like Powerburst, gentle agitate and rince with HOT water... do this several times before opting for a solvent cleaner.

I agree.

Dont put anything else on until you get out any vanish residue then begin your attack on whats left.

If you've got any m-power or nemesis give it a good treatment with that first of all, it will help break up the residue.  Then rinse well, then see what's left to treat.

Spray some defomer on the spots first. That'll break the soapy residue better than anything else.

I did a large dogs vomit the other day. The customer had used a ton of washing uo powder and some otrher cleaning products. I looked like a huge mess and was pretty much fecked!

But i sprayed undiluted defoamer all over the stain, left it dwell for about 20minutes and extracted, came up brand new.
