I bought my self a new toy at the weekend, a video camera that is smaller than my mobile phone, i plan and using it to take testimonials for my website.

i know some phones have video but this offers full Hd and 2 hrs filming and battery life all for £99

here is a test to show you the video quality

Decent quality video that Mike.

Think I will have to invest in one, I need more videos for the new site.

It's a nice little gadget like the Flip except the sound is better. I use a zi8 coupled with a zoom H2.

If you have a decent smartphone though the quality is pretty good nowadays video wise.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Must of had a senior moment there Mike I was thinking it was the VidoHD.

Have a look at Gorrila pods, they are bloody handy for on the job stuff.

Derek your phone is great on the first bit with your son but I think it loses definition  slightly on the room shot at the end, but for video testimonials it would be great, how easy is it to download from your phone to computer?

touch screen.
touch share option
touch bluetooth option, there is a youtube option but files in hd mode are usually to large. and my phones not connected to my wifi.
(phone then picks up my pc as a bluetooth device)
touch that and then wait a while and bobs your auntie.
i also have a facebook option but again, the file will probably be too big to send.

might try a few testimonials if i find someone game enough to have a go.

ps, if i connected to wifi it would be a one touch operation to upload to youtube or facebook.

pps...phone used was an experia arc.

The most important piece of kit is a good tripod.

Get a gorilla pod for it and you can stick it anywhere.

I made this movie with my Flip.

massive thank you to jamie for posting the above video.

showed it my 5 year old lad when you posted it, today he had his swimming lesson and jumped in, for the first time he accidentatlly went right under the water, the teacher left him as it wasn't deep, instead of panicing he just came to the surface with a big smile on his face humming some silly noise. i asked him what he was thinking when he went under the water, and why did he not panic, he said. "remember that video of that little boy jumping in the water that you showed me on your computer? well i was thinking of him and how much fun it was"  ;D

you had to be there but me and the wife are still laughing at how funny he was when he came up to the surface, priceless memory.
cheers jamie.

Andrew,

8gb

I was told you get 15mins HD filming on a gb of memory, thats a good price.

I have found this little camera to be really useful and must use it 3-4 times a week on jobs
