RO help please...
« on: May 21, 2011, 07:21:49 pm »
Hi Everyone!

I do window cleaning as part of our cleaning business (only a few days/month). Recently purchased a backpack wfp package including everything "what you need to start".

The RO filter in the package is a small 100gpd manual flush without booster pump. Tapwater TDS readings are very high between 370-395. I set up everything (I guess) correctly, readings taken:
- 35-40 ppm out of RO
- 15 out of DI (end product :( )
both far away what it should be, is it because of the low tapwater pressure?

The other thing what bothers me, I think more water runs out of the waste pipe than from the pure water outlet. As far as I know every filter installed properly, every pipe connected correctly.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

Make sure your DI vessel is tightened properly.

everything else sounds normal, 2 thirds waste to 1 third product usually. apart from you should be getting 0 after di what size is your resin vessel? the little 10" inch resin vessels dont last too long before you need to change resin...how much water have you produced through your di? it might be spent.
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

How big is the di bottle? and how many litres of water have u put through it since changing it?

the rest about the RO is probably about right it depends on your pressure and TDS from tap

DI vessel is a small 10" one, the whole system is brand new. produced approx. 10 litres so far, the checked readings about five times, the result is constant 14-15 ppm.

Did you run the RO water to drain for couple of hours before connecting to di?

Thanks for your advice. I'll give it another go tomorrow morning. I'm planning to use my new toy on Monday morning, so I have to get it going very soon.
