This week I've got the envious duty of baby sitting as my daughter has got chicken pox and has to stay away from school and the child minders.  
The phone has been pretty quiet this week, not sure whether to be pleased I'm not turning away customers or worrried.

Anyway, picked up already this morning, first 2 calls "any chance I can get there today/the weekend" because they've been let down by another company.
One was an empty property and a guy should have turned up yesterday afternoon - no show and not answering his phone.
Next one was a lounge diner that they had emptied to be cleaned at 8.00am this morning and again no show, company has 3 contact numbers and all of them are answering machine.
Not sure if it was the same company but I know the latter one and they advertise cheap and thats obviously just to draw the customers in and then pick and choose if they want the job, or push the price up on arrival, probably.

Unfortunately I had to turn down both jobs, can't do today and next availability is Tuesday.

It seems that the majority of people are looking for price over quality at the moment, maybe its time to start lowering my prices

Put my 3 piece price up from £150 to £170 two months ago and not seen a difference in conversion. Got recommends off these as well so must be doing something right.

The hard part has always been the same, finding people who will pay well. The easy option is to find people who want cheap, anyone can do that.

Same here ,always the same coming up to half term....Just booked a hall stairs and landing today ....886 sq ft + 2 flights of wide stairs

Jon the phone is not ringing but I'm putting that done to the fact that there are so many others out there putting prices in their adverts, websites, etc that are mega cheap therefore they don't bother ringing me.

How is putting your prices down going to help as if they are not ringing you they will not know your prices have been lowered.

There are plenty of cleaners up north charging this money.

Quite a few on here, but they will keep their heads down on this one no doubt. I would also say I'm sure there are many on here who charge a lot less who make a lot more money over all.

Is my reasoning totally skewed. There's less work out there, I need to put my prices up then.
