I think the reality of the current position every carpet cleaning business that has been established for a while finds themselves in dictates the level of investment they are prepared to make on equipment .

IMO after a whie of being established a tm is the only way to go to keep yourself ahead of all the new startups who i the vast majority charge low prices to get the ball rolling an investment of between 5-10 k on a setup that will open doors you just could not do with a porty it really is a no brainer.

I think the trouble is some people just think of how much it initially costs not the increase in productivity.

when i got my tm 18 months ago i took a gamble yes i was fortunate to find a low hours tm (160) for 3.5k but i took my time and was patient for one to come along . if maintained correctly and looked after they are not expensive to keep going for years. running costs are obviouisly more expensive than a porty but its all realative to turnover .

If someone told me i had to go back to using a porty to run my business i would give up because i dont feel i could continue to expand the way i have been doing.

I think someone has already mentioned and is spot on   a setup is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it .

It's on my 'wish list' to get a TM and I'm giving Jason's some consideration, but no matter who you are and where you are, in this current economic situation I'm only spending out what i really have to and whilst the scorpian continues to achieve the results I'm after then I see no point in spending out.
Yes I know it will easier and I know it will be quicker, I might even get slightly better results (I said might) but until there's an upturn in things why spend out when you don't have to.
