Anyone use a CAR for wfp?
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:52:47 pm »
I don't mean to carry a trolley and 25l containers.
How about putting a tank in the back of an estate car?

I have a mate who uses a volvo estate with a tank in the back.
It works well.

I personally prefer 25lt containers in the back, rather than a tank.

If you want to put a tank in, its easy to do. 250, 350litre layflat tank

Don't ever have a crash though, your feet won't touch.

Don't forget to change your insurance from private to business or when you have that little bump you will see bars on the windows not glass

Before getting my van I ran my Honda Accord estate with a 175L tank (and a couple of spare barrels) with a hosereel.
It's a game of three halves!

When my van was in the garage for a few days, I used my wifes mini. I managed to carry 100ltrs of water in 25ltr barrrels and the hariss pole just about squeezed in!!  :)

be very careful with the motor insurance, once a tank is in the vehicle is modified and if you havent told them you wont be covered.

Ironically, only if you modify the vehicle - not if the tank is rammed up against the seats ready to kill you!
