I've got the built in one on my Ninja.
Had a problem with it after 6 months
which was sorted under warranty.
8 months after that it started tripping
electrics every time I switched it on.
Got a quote from local engineer of about
£190 to rectify it, which I declined.
Don't really miss it now.
Wouldn't buy a built in one again would
get the stand alone one.

yeah, i've just bought a used grey one, Just hope it works ok when it arrives and provides good heat. i'll fill the machine with hot tap water to help the v2 steam.

With the built in one you wait for the
heater in tank to heat water to it's
max i.e when red light goes out.
Then switch on, put your water pump
on maximum pressure, switch from in
tank heater to steamate and wait, about
4-5 minutes.

The one i've bought is a separate stand alone portable unit. I'll see how good it is when it arrives.

The old grey heat exchanger is not a V2 and will not produce steam! in fact it will hardly produce hot water effectivley! I had one, used it for a few weeks and got my money back but a year or so later bought the V2 Steam mate which is a good piece of kit, the only down side it was £699 plus vat but would produce pure steam from stone cold water

Its often damp that causes them to trip fues etc. A good hair drier usually sorts it out.

Stuarts right..i dont think it will give warm water even from cold unless your water flow is really low and are prepared to wait a bit for the water to heat up in the solution pipes.
