I've seen this pole and the YouTube video doesn't do it justice.  It is unbelievably rigid and light.  The price is high maybe too high for some, but I think it's worth it for the lightest most rigid pole.  An extreme is as much better as a standard slx as an slx is to a clx if you catch my drift.  From the way the pole is designed I think that pole wear will be reduced as well.

ive just bought a 25ft SLX and i cant see me spending £600 on a 25ft extreme pole!(where did you get £1500 from?)

i added an aqua-daptor and its fantastic for all my work at present.its cost me around £400 for pole/brush/flow control.not spending anymore money on stuff now for a while.its time to make some instead!!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

i went back to the clx yesterday for cleaning my own windows and it felt very bendy as ive got used to the SLX!!

i will buy an extreme one day though if they are good robust light poles but im hoping my SLX will last a couple of years yet if i look after it!!
price higher/work harder!

Yes yes yes from the free advertising brothers! Maybe a new release at Plymouth convention!

There's other window cleaning suppliers run by JWs (I can name at least one other), so maybe it's unfair to imply that Gardiners get unfair free advertising from other JWs on the grounds of religion.

I'm not a JW, but the SLX is a superb pole which has radically changed the way we work (even my 5' 1" missis who weighs about 8 stone finds this pole easy to use).  So Gardiner poles gets my vote too, and I am definitely NOT a JW.

Alex Gardiner is quite a helpful guy too.  He helped me out with my pump positioning with pumps I purchased from another window cleaning supplier (Cleaning Warehouse).

Anyway, £600 for a pole is outside of my current pocket, so if it gets cheaper, or until I earn a lot more, I won't be buying one.  ;D

i think the reason gardiners has such a good rep, is not only becasue of the poles and brushes  but everything else they do, ie next day delivery when they say, fix problems, great custy service, the only bad thing i have ever heard of gardiners is that they sell out to quickly

Maybe if these companies designed & offered better products they wouldn't have to pay to try & sell them! ;D

Craig,

Well, Alex Gardiner is a popular member here, he's a helpful guy (I do realise it maybe in his interest to be helpful), most forum members who've used his products think they're great (me included), his service is great, and no-one can stop forum members from posting about his products.

What you can do is to report any of Alex Gardiner posts that you see where he's advertising; but to be honest; Alex doesn't need to advertise his poles.  His customers do that for him.  I think after some recent posts, Alex will be ultra careful he doesn't advertise his business; but as I say; his customers will still do that for him.

But what I think may happen is that you'll get cross at the perceived free advertising that Alex gets, you'll make some snotty comments, and Alex's customers (which is a lot of forum members) will then get snotty with you, and things may not turn out the way you would like them too.  I reckon with your 'Plymouth Convention' joke, you've already eliminated a few JWs as being potential customers for your wares.

Maybe if you helped other forum members with their problems, even if that doesn't lead directly to sales from your business, you could win some support from other members.  This forum can be a bit of a personality contest sometimes; Glyn from Omnipole lost, so did Craig Mawlam the owner of Ionics.  My suggestion is to be as friendly, helpful and professional as possible - in all areas - and avoid any bitching like the plague.

Edward

I have the 48' Xtreme on order with 1 x standard extension. I can't comment on it from direct experience as I haven't got it yet, BUT

I've gone through the evolution of poles in the last 7 years or so starting with old Excell f/g & unger alloy etc, then on to facelift carbon & then on to Gardiner poles. I've used an SLX for the last 3 to 4 years & a Super-Lite modular for higher work. Both the latter two are far superior to anything else I've used or owned. I've just sold my SL-57 & reserved the Xtreme. I'm investing blind (if you like) in the Xtreme but due to my experience with the company & their products I have absolute faith in what I will be receiving! I can't speak for others but in my experience any investment in a lighter, more rigid pole pays for itself pretty rapidly. ;)

Regards

Winp

if and this is only an if
the extreme pole is as good as an SL-X
then i can see more and more of us
window cleaners parting with the best part of 600
quid for these poles,
which will soon to be seen, or wrote
about on here. i know at least two
of my m8s who are getting this extreme pole
and are looking forward to recieving poles v/shortly.
Gardiners equipment is far superior to a lot
of others on the market imo  ;) ;) ;)

I think the reason why Gardiner Pole systems get a lot of free advertising isn't because of their religion but because they are great innovators.  You have a great pole designer that is using the poles he is designing each and every week.  If other distributers want free advertising then they should design something worth talking about, or give a service that is worth talking about.

For what it's worth I don't think the extreme will be beaten for a very long time and the design of the pole is totally unique and will probably stay that way.

Simon.
