Teaming up
« on: October 02, 2005, 09:50:36 pm »
Hi all,

what are all your opinions on teaming up with another cleaning company to gain a contract, keep a contract or purly because you need help in areas such as lack of equipment ect...is this sort of thing just not done for certain reasons.
Is the last resort to sub out the work and if so should you expect a percentage.

Thanks guys sorry for sounding so silly about this!

Hi Sonya,

personally I think its a good idea. I was always taught 50% of something is better than a 100% of nothing. Before starting any work I would strongly recommend terms are negotiated between the two parties so everyone knows where they stand.

Sometimes opportunties arise and you dont have the necessary skills or manpower to complete the entire job. Or it may be a job too big for small independants and having the support of a larger firm can allow you to do the parts you can do.

It can work both ways as some larger companies may not offer the services that some smaller companies specialise in.

I just like working so I will entertain most things.

I do quite a bit of domestic drain jetting for a firm, we work on a 60/40 split but its well worth it for me, especially the prices they charge.
I also do a bit of work on a fixed price for another cleaning company.
But it comes in handy when its quiet.
Both companies are great with me and I love to help them out.
I also have a young lad who is a window cleaner, who helps me out when I get busy and we get two machines going and ive lost count of the amount of new window customers he has gained from my work.
I dont think its silly to team up. especially when two companies specialise in two different fields.
