Waiting for the bubble to burst
« on: October 02, 2005, 07:31:44 pm »
I have had a cracking two weeks and have never stopped, the phone is even more busier than usual with the paint removal service, I am offering, even got a couple pubs to do.
Just haggling over the price of the scaffolding as these are real big 3 storey buildings.
I have just landed two filling station forecourt contracts.
This is the busiest I have been in months.
The bank manager will be pleased

hi there,

congratulations mate,  justtake advantage of it when its available, thats what i say.

we use the larger jobs to finance expansion, new kit purchases, that sort of thing, and then eventually we will be able topay oursleves more.

the trick never say NO to a  client,  if you are good at the service you provide, then the clients will not mind waiting a little for the service.

regards

martin

Cheers for that mate.
I havent had a wage as such up to know and was even thinking of taking a part time job just to make ends meet.
But I'm not going to get too excited as its early days yet.

Hi Gary,

well done mate and long may it continue.

Out of interest how long have you been going and what were you doing before this? This is my sixth month and apart from 1 blank week I've done much better than what I had expected.

This is something completely new to me and to be honest I really do enjoy it. I was in transport for many years, driving up and down motorways. What I love more than anything is getting the business. I might not have a good advertising response but put me infront of someone and not many get away. Without blowing my own trumpet too much, most jobs I do, I make sure the work is done properly and from that I usually get to do additional work for that customer.

Well done again.

Regards Paul

Ive been doing the job for about 8 months, but I bought the business off the guy whom I was working for as he had decided to call it a day.
But ive only owned it just over 4 months.
I more or less gambled all i had.
So I think this is what is given me the incentive to go out and get work.
But I am learning fast.
When I go to quote for a job, I go smart and prepared.
I talk straight, and be honest.
Out of all the jobs I have done I have had one complaint, which was easily rectified.
In the past I have done a lot agricultural work using a tractor propelled washer and jetter.
So I have a sound knowledge.
But like everybody else, I seek advice on a regular basis.
