Yes there is something wrong with that percentage..........................

It is a bit low......................................................................

Mine is 100%............................... but then I do advertise my prices in my leaflets and online.

Craig why are you so sceptical?????    just because your conversion is not so high does not mean that no one else can achieve that.......

why does everyone want to see his website? makes no sense. thanks for the tips carpetmasters. sounds a tad too much imo for each customer to get, but maybe i've misunderstood how large this folder is. do you ask for them back or are they theirs to keep? we do something similar for commercial cleans so i suppose it's not too different

So why are you defending this guy, he seems big enough to fight in his own corner......... ;D

or is there an identity problem here???

Who are you GCS ??  rug doctor??? carpet musters???? :o :o

hmmmmmmmmmm

methinks more sniffing is needed :-\

How have I been stopped? If I was banned from this forum I would appeal to Mr Boxhall because the decision would not be right.

I posted very good ideas and idiots posted rubbish underneath. You're just defending the people you know and that's wrong Doug, very unfair!

As a moderator you should be able to also stop those 'well kown' names from making silly belittling remarks that other members are fed up with on here.

Why do you think this forum is so quiet?

Why do you only see the same old posters?

Why have you seen a real decline in experience depart this forum leaving wanna be's and hopefuls behind?

Come on Mr Moderator do your job properly, stop defending your mates otherwise I will do something and contact Mr Boxshall to explain a few things and let him make the biggest decision about his 'staff'!!!

Lol if I converted all enquiries I be dong ten jobs a day, perhaps if you raise your price and you won't be a busy fool.

I still remember you saying on tmer s that you don't need to advertise, funny your always on here asking questions about the best places to advertise. And with 97% conversion why do you need to?

I once read somewhere that if you are converting more than 6-7 out of 10 then your prices are too low, I think it all depends on the amount of enquiries and how much you really want that job, if someone calls with 1 dining chair 50 miles away then your chances of converting the job and making profit means that you probably won't get it and that deminishes your conversion rate.

Most of my work is recommend and referal which after 23 years in the industry you would expect but I still need new blood to fill in the people that leave the area, die or just don't want for loads of reasons, so the need to do selective advertising keeps me ticking along and allows me to price without thinking that I'm going to be skint (even poorer than I already am, because I am really poor)

The real trick is keeping the phone ringing then then next trick is getting them to book.

Among all the dross and childishness he actually had some intersting thgings to say.

It's a shame that something prevents these sort of people from acting reasonably but as we know they come and go.

I have to agree Doug,

The person has something to contribute, particularly to people just starting out. David Jenkins used to leave a 17 page folder with prospective clients which apparently, worked very well.

if you are going into the quote with a folder which is designed to be left to help the customer make a decision to chose you then you are in the wrong mindset... you should do every quote with the aim of walking out with a booked appointment.

you should sit there and give all the information they  need to make a decision to chose you, walking out of the door without the job hoping a folder will get yoiu the job is for wimps

Surely the whole point of going out to do a quote is to geta clear picture of what the client wants done and then have them like and trust you to do a good job. If you can't achieve that during a half hour visit then no amount of bumph is going to help you get the sale.
A friend of mine got a quote from someone down south who was there for 45 minutes with his lap top and then quoted £228 for a basic clean of two small bedrooms and a stairs and landing. He left leaving a folder full of pages of meaningless information which ended up in the bin. My friend didn't book him simply  because he didn't trust him and thought he was only interested in hyping up the price for his own gain. >:(

Based in Reading by any chance?
I picked up a job in exactly the same circumstances. You can have the flash van with the flash equipment, the flash measuring gear with the dimensions loaded onto a laptop, which then prints off reams of paperwork, with a super high price to match all this stuff, BUT didn't close the deal.
