Quoting from architects drawing.
« on: April 20, 2011, 07:35:08 pm »
Has anyone compiled a quote for a commercial builders clean from a set of architects drawings.

The reason I ask, I got a call yesterday from another cleaning company asking me if I'd be interested in quoting for a re-furb of one building and a new construction if another. It all sounded a little off-beat to be honest although initially at first I was interested. Saying that the girl who called reckoned their existing contractor charged £2.50 a window which is cheap for a builders clean. Anyway she wantted a price yesterday which all seemed rather rushed ad the job wouldn't be ready til December. It started to smell a little too much for me in the end I told her it didn't add up I wasn't comfortable and that I wasn't therefore interested.

So back to the original question, hows about pricing from drawings? Who's done it?

yes I have, a building site of new builds, all they could show me was the drawings so I just counted the windows and went for a price per window, a lot higher than 2.50 though. needless to say I never got the job

Something along those lines perhaps. Or perhaps they didn't have a clue tharp ed. She did mention the name of the company. I know them, they come on here, unless it's another company with the same name. If it's who I think it is, Steve put your prices up ;0)

Hi Matt,

It's common practice to quote off drawings for build clean work. Any probes email me.

Cheers,

Huw.

Thanks Huw. Well I've passed it up now anyway. I didn't hear back about that quote about 3-4 weeks ago. Never mind mate. Any news on your project re: passing work on from enquiries?

Matt
