« on: April 18, 2011, 08:20:20 pm »
just started a new contract at a very big and busy town centre sports bar.

its just had a big refit and the new flooring in the toilets its a hard flooring type, its cream with new seal and gets very very dirty!!!

its very rough and just a good mopping just doesnt cut it what so either!

was thinking maybe some sort of steam cleaning????

need some help before the floor has had it.

even when it was new - the builders left it in a mess and its only getting worse ....

its probably altro safety flooring, normal mopping makes it worse, the best thing is  a microsplitter, we use Stapro Single pass, about a tenner for 5 litres, and dilute 10 to 1 and mop on and leave for 1 to 2 mins max. then scrub and pickup, unless you got a scrubber dryer

Do not use oil based cleaning supplies. Those thy of cleaning supplues may dull the floors.

You need to consider exactly what you are dealing with.  Usually toilet floors are Altro or Porcelain tiles.  Let me know exactly and I will supply you with a method statement to clean them.

hi,

i spoke to the flooring guys who fitted it as they were back doing a couple of smaller jobs at this pub.

it a light cream Altro flooring, they said they told the powers that be that it would need a seal but they didnt want it as it would take away some of the non slip.

i asked why such a light colour for a busy pub - floor guys said its such a light colour as if it was a dark colour - yes it would hide alot of dirt but if a dark shade any urine could bleach the floor.

they said to me its a bad choice of colour has Altro flooring strips the soles of trainers and goes into the floor.

so all in all its not a good combination - wet & sticky beer with light coloured altro flooring.

the main problem is we are contracyed in at once a week for 6 hours to help the part time daily cleaner - (who is really really bad at cleaning) pub manager is very aware of this but doesnt want to sack him off at mo.

If it's Altro I would pre wet it then apply Aqua mix Heavy Duty tile and Grout cleaner let it dwell for 10 minutes then scrub with a soft scrubbing brush on a rotary and vac it off with a wet vac it will come up a treat.
