Hope ya all sound...
I need a bit of advice of you,if anyone can help

Right guy's
Got a customer who has phoned me saying we have scrached all his sills
So iv bin round to see him today & all his sills have scraches on them....he told me there were new windows & they look it :
So iv been to another customers to see if they are the same & guess wot....they are..must be off brush heas,as scraches stop at post,then start again below glass pane.....

Now this guy is asking me about my insurance etc.....not looking good guys...
Has any you lot had this problem ? if so.....what was the outcome guy's ??
I have to call and see him tommorow & im not looking forward to it

So if any of you could give me a bit of advice,i would be more than happy to listen.....lol
I hope its not a case of having to replace windows.....PHEW!!!!!

Any advice will be much appriciated guy's as im stuck here fella's

if only surface scratching then they can be pollished out.

I know it is listed as a cleaner but it is slightly abrasive and thus polishes!
I have fitted windows and at times yes they get scratched no mater how carefull and this stuff has pulled me out of the poop a few times. they realy would have to be bad to require replacing.
you would have had to have draged a brick over them, either that or cheap s**ty make of window

now if s**t happens if its only the cills that are scratched ! then it is only the cills that need replacing. ok the windows have to come out for them to be changed but beleve me its a hell of a lot less expense

Iv just been onto another customer,who fitts windows & he gunna send a van up there tommorow......PHEW....!!!!
He said if it was a brown framed 1 i'd be f*cked....so be VRRRY careful guys on the brown frames
Ya made me feel a bit better now chris mate.....i was pannicking man....
I will hold on to see what the guy (my customer) says tommorow,when he's had a look & if he says x ammounts of ££££  ill give that a go man with what you said...

yep hes right if they were cherry you would have been up the swanny as they are a veneer over white so scratches realy show up, but a trick there is colour match polish from halfords!

After my phone call with him,i must say chris, i was glad they were white pvc... thank god!!!!

Anyway chris,
just phoned the customer back to say i'v got a window fitting company calling tommorow after 2.00pm to see what can be done to resolve this problem.......
He was greatfull man....should keep him from getting angry..lol.. .
At least he knows im going to try & sort it....
He was also a bit more relaxed when i told him about company coming tommorow,he was easier to talk to........when i first went to look at scraches,he was a hard man to talk to...as you can imagine mate...
Yep,ill keep you informed mate of the outcome...hopefully it will all work out smooth

Is your brush head damaged?  I'm interested in how you've come to scratch them; might help some of us to avoid it...

Why so worried? You must have insurance so would only cost you about £250 excess.

i dont think the excess is the point .if the frame is getting scratched due to the brush then it will keep happening.

 but i also notice ledges getting scratched sometimes.if a bit of dirt comes off the window and then you brush the sill the dirt can scratch the plastic.

Bricking it at the minute man....
My brush head seams okay man....might b a couple ov sharp bits ere n there,but i wouldnt ov thought it be enough to cause damage mate 
Im not to sure how they have scrached man...i never cleaned house vin.....just got call saturday to go see them,but didnt want to go,so i popped in today & had a look....

As dd asked there..hiya DD mate  ...i use a standered 16 in brodex brush head,with the metal jet's inserted....
i think it could maybee be down to exesive pressure on sills causing jets to scrach sills.....OR.....cleaning windows from the side of pane,working way down...when brush reaches bottom of pane,the plastic head could be rubbing then scraching the sills....HMMMMMMMMM....i just dont know how this has happened guy's

I'll tell ya why mate....its a customers house man...and they only just got new windows in......& it is us who has damaged the sills man....thats why bud :
Public liability dont cover us for that,i think....just injury....
Anyway man,even if we were covered..id still worry,as why this has happened & how long before another customer had damaged sills or frames as a result of our cleans...not good for buisness matey

I have had this happen to me. It it is when I brush sfrom side to side and work down the pane of glass. The edge of the stock rubs along the sill and scratched it. All I have ever needed is a rub of PVC restorer. Try a solvent one first and if that doesn't work use a cream restorer.

Yeah i know wot ya mean mate...a soft brush wont scrach the plastic.....must b the jets or as david explains.....in the post below..
Iv never come accross this before man....
And yeah right mate...i dont know if they were there before mate....but what do you do ?
But it seems like its down to us as other sills are the same mate

Glad its not just me then...lol ....
Most ov them should come off with a good chemical,but a lot seem to be deepish : & the customer seems like he wants them brand new again man.....they phoned me saturday & i got there today & they were still inspecting the frames also when i turned up.....
Hope im not in for a rough ride here bud

tosh has got a point were they there before? but in all whats done is done.
brodex brushes are a hard bristle, well the ones I have.
 for upstares cant beat a cill brush as the bristles touch the sill first and the brush stock is kept well away.
the stock is realy the only part that can scratch, the jets are to far in even if pushed hard the build up of the bristles would stop you before jet contact.
this is also a point that i have on jet size, put enough water through and any large c**p will wash away before it gets the chance to be draged along anything, It gets me the number of people on here that are downsizing to 1 mm jets, im not reducing but increasing and not the size but the number of them

I might look at the sill brush.....
i know wot ya mean bout the jets...the bristles gather thick,so i dont think that is the problem now ya mention it.....
I took a couple pics,but there crap photos..ill try and load them up....
Let me know how them jets go man...youll use a load ov water man....

Hi justin.
to be absolutly honest I have recovered cills a lot worse then those with the cream cleaner.
looks like the brush stock has draged across them as they are realy parralel. if it had been some big dirt i would have expected them to be all over the place.
yet they could also be draw marks from when the cills are made and extruded through the die, over time (not long) they become prominent as they trap dirt. you get a lot of this with cheap crapy upvc.

but honest I would give them the cream and a polish with some stockinet or microfibre after then just apolojise to cousty and explane you have looked into what might have happened and rest asured you will do everything in your power to avoid this incident happening again.

as for the jets everyone seems to have this fan or jet? 1mm or 2mm sort of thinking. so past few weeks been playing (as i do ) i now have a brush with 6 times the rinsing power of a brush with 1 mm jets and uses less water than a brush with 2 mm jets yet still only has two jets fitted 

but if im to get into this im going to have to start a new thred and look into how to put pics up on here

I had this once justin, it happened on a first clean for a customer who hadnt had them cleaned for ages, i found it a bit dodgy as it was on one of the back windows on the top floor, just seemed to much of a coincidence for me to be honest. i went round and cleaned them up with CIF which got rid of the majority of the marks but there was one big deep scratch and i couldnt work out how it had been done, i offered to get a pro out to look at them but she said it was ok and she was happy that there was now no visible marks and only thr scratch that now that it was all clean was not as visible.

Dont know if it was me or not but it all just seemed so suspicious, she said i was the only one that had ever cleaned them yet she went round inspecting it all as if she was really house proud. nothing has been said since and ive never had the problem again.

Do you think it could of been a stone caught in your brush and was dragged along when the cills were cleaned?
