You must contact your custies and keep the informed of your progress and they will stay loyal to you as long as they know whats going on. I had a finger pined years ago and did a bit, mind you a thumb is a more needed didget!

Carl,

Sorry to hear about your predicament.

As said, it's a tough business to be in when you get hurt. If you can, I would say try to rest it as much as possible, and when you are fit again you will be flying.

Best wishes,
John

thanks john. it could be worse and there are some upsides. i can do my year-end accounts, gives time to rest a niggling wrist injury in same hand, chance to show good customer service by calling each and every customer, review cashflow in detail. And have a relax! just hope i can get back on 3 may after all these bl&*dy bank holidays.

I broke my thumb 5 weeks ago playing rugby. Wouldn't let them put it in a cast, so is taking longer to heal. Absolute nightmare working for the first two weeks, but just have to harden up! settled down then and is OK now although still not 100%. It didn't really slow me down, just miserable for that first two weeks!

Mine's got a pin in it, put in under a general anaesthetic, plus I tore the nail off. It's strapped to hell with a big aluminium support wrapped all the way round it. No way can I work, nor do I want to. I'll take a hit for 3 weeks or so in the hope that i'll be back by 3 May.
