You really can't say a flat rate, it depends on so many factors.

How dirty obviously, whether they want the whole roof doing (inc gutters etc), how regular they want it doing.

But £6/7 does seem mighty cheap. I tend to use a rule of thumb of £5 per panel, and go up or down depending on severity of clean needed. I've never charged any less than £20 tho

Ps. If you don't like doing them, then is it really worth it for that money? How long do you think it will take you?

How are you cleaning them? By hand or wfp?

If it's by hand then I can understand why you don't like doing them, especially if its for peanuts. It takes long enough by wfp, let alone doing it manually.

I find it tough getting good prices for add-on work, unless it's a real bugger of a job.  The thing is, I have these regular customers, and I'm fairly happy about all my prices for window cleaning, so then I don't want to put a spanner in the works by charging high for one-off type additional work like conservatory roof cleaning or gutter cleaning.

I have in the past, annoyed a customer who I subsequently lost, who thought I was being greedy when I charged her what I thought was a fair (but verging on the side of high) price for a gutter cleaning job.

I still charge a fair price, but I don't kick the bottom out of it, and I often qualify it with, "And that'll be a lot cheaper than if you got a quote from out of the Yellow Pages, and if you don't believe me, you're welcome to try it!"

Stop thinking then and quote them.
I charge by the roof panel with a min charge of £30.00.
It's crap work that's why they don't do it themselves.
Ask for a decent price they can only say no,

Nothing less than £45 & normally £50 for roof, gutters all upvc & glass & tfr pre treatment.

I find people will accept that price no problems & it's 2-3hrs work.

I always price them and then knock a tenner off for regular window cleaning customers - so obviously put that on first, they think they are getting a bargain.

also don't be afraid to point out that it is difficult to clean properly and not many people do them, then point them in the direction of a company like Blue Sky who charge a bloody fortune, you will get the job!

if your just cleaning up the pannels, then about £10 should do.

However, if your cleaning up the finals, plastic, guttering and windows, your going to be there a while and need to charge accordingly.

This conny roof took me 2 & 1/2 hours to get clean.... price - £90

Start from the top an sprayed the roof with virosol.... cleaned the roof off wfp, cleared out the crud from the gutter and then got a hosepipe & brush from a dustpan & brush setand scrubbed away.

Internal gutters took about 35mins to clean... the virosol was washed into the gutters from the roof, so guess that helped

Thanks

What was the dilution on con roofs for virosol?  1:20 ?  or higher.

Did you use flocked brush as have been told they can scrath poly roofs?

When you took out crud from gutter initially did yoy do it by hand before using dust pan brush?

cheers

I have under quoted  roofs in the  few last week.  Thats mostly because some woman I quoted. For a quick go over her lean,to for about £15, and then a regular window clean £22 on top..  Now I thought £15 for a quick go over a leanto was ok.  But she rang me up thinking that the £22 I quoted for her windows, was for her roof has well. Some people just make me laugh.
Someone got  the job for a lot cheaper than that.

Today I started to make up for some of the cheap cleans I have done.  Conservatory roof inside/out £150. I think is an ok price
