How do I change my website?
« on: April 07, 2011, 09:12:28 am »
Hi guys,

My website is here and needs changing quick:

http://abcchepstowwindowcleaning.co.uk/default.aspx

It's fourth in the rankings on the first page, but it's got silly photos of me in it from when I was just mucking about with it.

I've now got my user ID and password, but after fannying about, I can't find where I log in to change/update the site.

Is there any website saavy people who can help?

Cheers.

Hi Tosh,

You need an FTP client, you can get free ones like Terrapin FTP and Filezilla.

Enter your username and password and you will see the directory of your files, then you can change whichever page you need to using something like notepad simply..

Hope this helps

Hey, thanks Matt, it's sorted now.  It's because I was using Google chrome (I think), but I can log in and change stuff now.

Cheers.

Have you any idea how when I google "Chepstow Window Cleaning" I'm fourth?  In other posts I've read it seems like to get a top front page listing, you have to do a number of technical things, yet I have done nothing.  I created the site about 18 months ago, then forgot about it.

No probs tosh, if it was just a browser issue then i didnt really do much, but that link to the forum i sent you can help you if you ever need to do anything else abit more tech.

Glad you got it sorted mate.
