« on: April 05, 2011, 08:03:27 am »

I hired one for a very big job I picked up, and to be honest I hated it!! I did use it on some parts of the guttering which were too high for a ladder, but ended up doing the rest of the building off of my ladders as it was far quicker and a lot easier!!!

Hello,

What kit did you use and what were the problems? We've just done a job, been on site for 2.5 hours and earned £350.00 with one of our vac systems. Our average job is £462.00 and those jobs never take more than 6-9 hours to complete (our average price is £1.75 per metre).

hi what system have you got please and would you say between brackets is normaly a metre or do you measure it thanks john.

Hello,

We manufacture our own systems www.guttercleaningsystems.co.uk  The price per metre really depends on what type of work you are doing. Our price per metre is low because we concentrate on large jobs schools, large industrial sites and old people complexs to name a few and these jobs are usually hundreds of metres (we measure them with a measuring wheel). If you're mainly doing domestic you're looking at about £3 per metre. To give you an example we cleaned a house and next door the window cleaner was doing the windows on an identical house, we took 5 minutes longer to clean all the gutters than the window cleaner did to clean the windows, we got £55 for the gutters, he got £9 for the windows.
How do you advertise the gutter cleaning service ?

I've done half a dozen gutter cleans over the last year or so with ladders. The problem that seems to me with guttervacs is that with almost every job the tiles came down too close to the gutters in areas of the property.I could barely get me fingers into the gutters in some cases so I don't know for the life of me how I would get a vacuum in there.I like the idea of a vac,if there was enough work for me to justifty one,but things like this put me off.Gutter work does seem like an excellent earner I must admit but I think I'll stick with the old fashioned method for now.£462 for an average job sounds great though, can't argue with that for a days work.I'm surprised that people are prepared to pay that kind of money.I charged £150 for a largish house a while back.Took me a morning and I was pretty happy with that.I was half expecting them to tell me to sling my hook when I told them the quote.

30 minutes Blimey!!!!!!!!

Here's a video of us putting the poles together
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O13rQm64D34

You'll see the timing at the bottom. Allow a couple of minutes for getting the equipment out of the van and there you have it.

the problem i got is now this isnt me starting a ladders war but ive just been on a working at height HSE course and cutting it short if you have a accident useing ladders when a risk assesment would have told you there is a safer method of doing the job the HSE CAN AND WILL prosecute you and in some cases the customer as they have a duty of care this is why i am ditching ladders all together im not agaist them just trying to do things right

I've just bought a bargain guttervac from polarbrite the small one and  its better than the eastern one.
Only 1200 watts and does a better job than the 3000 watt eastern one and is so light its a delight to use I recommend to everyone to call Craig and ask him about it.
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

Hello,

If you go to our website www.guttercleaningsystems.co.uk you will see a selection of kits, remember that when you buy our kits you get poles as well.
You don't have to risk your valuable window cleaning poles.
We have tested them all on lots of jobs, and they all work very well.
We always take a generator for convenience, but we do now that some operators plug in to their customers ring main.
The great thing about this system is that as well as earning very good money, you can now do over conservatories and extensions.

i like the look of the 3600watt one i gonna start saving as i think its the way to go £250 more for this one but ive not herd anything good about the eastern trading one
