M power or fusion 8?
« on: April 03, 2011, 03:41:32 pm »
Hi

I have been using Amtech microsplitters one for wool and upholstery and one for synthetic. The one for synthetics is good but Im not really sure about the other one, I've had mixed results. I've not been doing carpets long so havnt tried many different chems.

I have been thinking about having a go with Solutions, M power or fusion 8 as everyone likes them so much. What would you recomend to try first? Do they have different merits? and is the booster worth using? Are they much better than the Amtech ones?

Thanks
Rob

I used Amtech Microsplitters also and now use Prochem, Nemesis, Fusion 8 & M Power.
If your going with one of the latter two I would go with M Power as it performs well on most things I've tried it on.
Haven't tried the booster and to be honest haven't needed it, if it comes to it I would just apply a second spray.   ;D

M power is my preferred choice most of the time but I sometimes use fusion 8 on suites. HD microsplitter is also very good especially on very dirty syntethics and makes a great spotter mixed at about 6/1.

What dilution rates would you use for M Power on a lightly soiled suite?

In simple terms, for 5 litres of pre-spray I use 15ml of M-Power. If it's a minger I put 56grams of Soluboost in it as well, mixed with very hot water.

How you gonna get 15ml of powder up a syringe?

Colin

You tight sod, I mix MP at 1/100 or 50ml per 5 litres.
I use a syringe for this.

Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

i like m power and am now using nemesis as i want to compare both , results are more or less the same though i would give m power the edge. for measuring out i use a small plastic measure cup ( like an egg cup ) it holds up to 30mil i prefer this to a syringe.

Colin, 15ml seems a bit on the low side, I thought it was 120/1 which would be 41ml, or do you find you are getting a good response at that dilution.

As for measuring I use an old baby milk bottle ;D

Doh.... I'm getting mixed up in my old age ;D I was thinking about when I'm mixing 'Final Phase', not M-Power..... :-[
And even that's wrong because Final Phase is 30ml per 20litre.....

Right, I'm off for a glass of wine.... (More than 15ml I hasten to add!!!)

Colin,

You going to measure that in a syringe? Or just stick with the pint glass? ;D

Mark I quite ofton use 80/1 on heavily soiled carpets, leave for 20 mins and then a light overspray with HD, works wonders.  For light soiling I use at a rate of 120/1.
