They reckon they come in threes don't they, I've had all three today.

First off I had an inside conservatory clean to do, I had told them they'll need to move all the furniture out the way and clear the window-sills, they were meant to leave the conservatory doors unlocked. Got there all locked up and all the furniture and window sills were uncleared.


Next one. I have a key to open their side gate when theyre out. It has monster locks on it but only one is usually locked. Got there, undid the lock I have a key for some dunderhead had locked the other one. No way round as the gate is part of an extension and the fences had trellis fixed to the top.

Last one. Got there. Bloke comes out.

'Not today mate'.

I said 'Oh, whys that?'

He said, 'Well......... ' umming and arring 'We're going away and I only did them last week, I didnt know when you are coming next'

I said 'Well, Im not late and I dont tell people when Im coming as theres no guarantees, Im am dissapointed though as I came out here to clean your windows' Its out in the sticks, a special journey.

He said 'well, not today anyway, sorry, not today, you could call us before you come next time'

I said 'Youll be lucky' and buggered off.


I hate days like today, do my bonce in.

Dear Mr xxx. I thought I'd do you the decency of letting you know I will not be servicing your window cleaning needs from now on as I'm sure you'd prefer not to be informed at the last minute. I cannot continue to sustain a business with customers that are unreliable; in addition to costing me time and money. Perhaps your previous window-cleaner who you had problems with is prepared to come back. Matt (Oakley window cleaning)

tosh has the right idea mate. you do get days like this mate move on and replace custie. funny enough had a women who when i cleaned them last critercised my work so checked them and they was all fine. now she wants me to clean them this week. no way an i goin back to that shes sacked mates.

i turned up yest to do an IN and OUT . woman says "hello,come on in love and do you want a drink"  , her fellah then pipes up "no need to come in,hes only cleaning the outsides"  

"well i want him to clean the insides ,look how filthy they are "( not been touched in 15years)
" ignore her mate,shes got dementia,,,,,,,,just humour her ,,, and go clean  outside only "

Hasn't happened for years, but if custies argue while I'm there, I don't go back. Who needs that?

Just had an email off a customer to cancel.

Cleaned them last week and he rang up to ask to go every other month which as he caught me off guard i said yes ... thought i will see how minging they are and increase price when i see him face to face now he has cancelled all together  shame as was £25 job.

so with £24 going awol yesterday and now this £25 thats £49 a month just off the bottom line 

got 1 new £8 a month job so not totally down but want to replace these ASAP

Let me tell you one of my recent experiences.

A fellow windy who is higher on the evolutionary scale than me (as in he is where I aspire to be financially as a one man band) passed a domestic enquiry on a new build estate to me last week and I phone the geezer up.

He tells me it hasn't been cleaned since it was built and I explain that it will cost double and that I will take a look straight away and phone him. So I say £24 first clean then £12 every two months; he says fine and that he'll pay me on line if I put my details.

So last Wednesday I did it, put the slip through.

Thursday - no dosh
Friday - no dosh
Weekend - no dosh
Monday - no dosh

So I knock the door about 5pm on my way home and his partner comes to the door with the "I don't know about it you'll have to speak to XXXX."

So I explain and she obviously does know because she then says I haven't got £24 cash. So I say cheques fine - no cheque book - pay on line? Don't know the password.

So I say ok I'll sit in the van and phone XXXX.

His phone is just clicking to answering machine and I'm thinking I've bin had when she comes out flashing the cash and says:-

"You wanna think yourself lucky I had the cash!" to which I said I didn't feel lucky at all as XXXX had told me I'd be paid immediately on line. She says "I'll kick his head in when I see him, leaving me to pay his debts!"

Then she says "XXXX tells me you'll be round every two months" (remember she didn't know anything about it) so I said that was what we had arranged.

I'm not going back - she's a rough'un with a big mouth and I can't be hassled with getting between her and her partner!

Prolly get a phone call in a years time when they're minging again. Good job I charged double or I'd be well miffed.

yep but was long overdue lol ... been having such a fantastic run of new customers approaching me it couldnt last 4ever ... life not like that ... was a little pi55 offed but phone just rang with 2 new enquiries so like someone else said window cleaning like a leaky bucket gotta keep topping it up ... onwards and upwards   .... just on 1 year in so still refining and tweaking to make a perfect round of all nice customers who pay instantly   ... just slightly annoying when they "refine" me though
