Hi Fellow window cleaners....

I wanted to fined out what your feelings are about, getting customers in other windys areas. When someone says that is his/her's patch, What does he/her's mean by this....does it mean he or she owns all the houses on that road even tho  they havent got them all????...What if that customer doesnt want that window cleaner but you instead...What would you do.

I feel that this is the worst thing about window cleaning....Me personal if i did 25 house on a road of 50 and someone else took 10 of them of my road i wouldnt be ped of with them id be psoff with my self for not getting them....

Ask yourself one question:  Do you want to find a horse's head in your bed?

Cut the hose: how I can but dream of wreaking such havoc.  It's hard enough cutting barbed wire with shrapnel.  A real art.

Nobody WANTS you.  You're a convenience.  You look good... for now.  Get your foot in the door and you're good to go for a few years with the weak/uncertain ones, and you'll find happiness too.

Your funny

Tosh says that, sometimes.

I like to think I'm accurate.

Apart from being wide of the mark, which can happen.

Here's how I play it ...

There I am all nonchalant like, splashing away and the mobile goes and it's Mrs. Lady who asks if I'll quote to clean her windows. If it's close enough I'll tool along and (wait for it) quote for cleaning her windows!

Do I check if there's another windy nearby? No. (there's bound to be really isn't that so?) What I do do is focus on the custy and smoke out if she is likely to be a PITA or a dream custie (usually somewhere inbetween). If it's worth a punt I'll do it on my terms.

99/100 the thought of another windy being about doesn't cross my mind.
It's a game of three halves!

I go out leaflettiing for jobs if i get some, what ever area i have delivered i do them if someone else does a house near to where i live fair play to them for getting there before me,like the author of this article said id just be annoyed with myself for not getting there first.
Nobody owns any street or estate in this business it's just what you can get, i was delivering leaflets a week or so ago and this bloke came out and said you wont be getting a call from me there is a a reliable w/c comes around here, ive got one job from there and another to quote theres gaps in areas everywhere, it just finding them.

IMO the best part is building your own round not buying one or renting one building from scratch is the way.
