i clean a pub and sometimes when scrimming the windows no mater how good i try ye get them smear marks when the light hits them and they look terrible any tips?

1 damp scrim then use one dry scrim and look on the angles to see the smear marks

tried that also. sometimes the dry scrim leaves that dusty residue you really only see when light hits it at angles. Does my nut in

i wfp the outsides and use a green micro fibre cloths with pure water in a spray bottle for insides

Don't confuse cheap microfibre cloths with the expensive fine ones for finishing windows. GOOD ,microfibres will probably solve your problem.

Yeah get some microfibre cloths, I get soap nationals own brand and are very good, I don't find that spraying neat water wipes off very well, I use tap water with a splash of gg4, spray a fine mist, then use 2 cloths, one to get the majority of the water off then the second to finish off, this technique is far superior to using traditional scrim.

the reason why, you can't clean the insides properly is because the build up of nicotine on the windows, i know you can't smoke anymore but it stays there for ages, attracts everything and smears like hell, try soaping the whole window up and leaving for a min, soap up again and then clean the same way wet scrim and then dry scrim , other than that try a product for tough cleaning, over time i found out they get better and better, the scrim leaving fibres and stuff, is it pretty new ? i found that after its been used and washed about 20 times it will stop that,

i find that i get good results by using real vigour when buffing lead. a "drumming" noise as the scrim drums the lead tells me thats the right amount of elbow grease to clear any crud from the corners .

I use a wet microfibre applicator (deionised water) wipe the water off with my wet scrim, buff with dry scrim. Takes me longer to write it than do it.

i clean pubs with scrim and have no problem with smears, give the microfiber another go.
