Letting agents/Estate agents
« on: March 24, 2011, 12:20:44 pm »
Visited a few letting agents close to me this morning. Gave a few free spotter bottles to the office staff introduced myself, Got chatting in a couple of the offices to the ladies. Walked out Having booked in £185 of work on 2 jobs, and a quote to do on another. And the agents are keeping my details and seemed enthusiastic  ;D

Nice hours canvasing me thinks

Letting agents are good & evil together in my opinion,

Its nice when theres work coming in from them but will normally demand jobs done at short notice,

expect it done fairly cheap and then dump you when you cant deliver and move onto the next one.

My advice is do the work but dont put your eggs all in one basket, as there is no real loyalty with these

places and often times when new staff come along they will drop you at a minutes notice.

Regards
Steve  ( just a little bit bitter  ;D )

Generally speaking Steve is spot on ! although i have one diamond! most agents are very demanding and price concious.

I think the problem is that all cc's tend to target Letting Agents and they play one off against another seeking the keenest prices from the most eagre. It may yeild results in the short term but next week someone else will be the flavour of the month.

I do a fair bit of work for a national letting agent and they have always been fair, thankfully!  They do expect jobs to be done at a moment's notice though and I'm paid in thirty days.  I think as long as you work for them with your eyes open then you shouldn't have too many problems.

I have a few on my books who have tried other cleaners because of price but they tend to drift back into the fold when job not done correctly

I find Landlords  and Letting Agents to be the worse payers

I am reaching the stage where unless I am paid in advance I will not do job
