I was once involved with a 'network marketing' company. It taught me many ways of attracting leads/customers.
Lots of people on this forum will tell you 'one' way is best. Do this/dont do that!
What i learned is that the more 'fishing rods' (not literal) you use the more you will catch (customers)
So if you are trying a bit of door knocking well hey, thats great! Not in the mood for door knocking try some leaflets! Get some flyers up in local shops etc.
There is certainly more than one way to 'get' a customer.

RESULTS      
One hour and five minutes delivering leaflets LAST wednesday.(100 leaflets)
JOBS SO FAR
£10 every 4 weeks
2 x £12.50 every 4 weeks
£14 every 4 weeks

This estate was leafleted once last year by myself. Picked up (with referals) over £600 worth per month from that (450 leaflets) plus this new business.

The estate has at least 3 other wfp plus 2 trad.
Just get out there and build your business!!

That's what I do, drop then follow up within a few days. I put on the leaflet that someone will be calling soon, so it helps break the ice. Good results though so far mate. Get in there.

I will be honest i have never followed up with knocking, but i am going to give it a go.

leafleted one small village this pm (200 houses and two big hotels)
So far 4 domestic 2@£15, 1@£25 and one at £32.50. Oh yes and the big hotel at £350.00. All once a month!!
Best results for us re leaflets dropped/customers picked up.
