a second hand rolls royce will seem a bit much compared to a second hand reliant.

the one at £90 is refurbished, and as said would cost £295 +vat retail. Cheapest you get new is about £230 on ebay.

Sebo's are not a cheap and nasty piece of equipment that falls to pieces in the first month - they built well and if treated with respect should last for a few good years.
If you want something cheap then buy a cheap machine that wont last 2 minutes.

Or check out Tennant they do one which is the same as the Sebo,got 2 for £500 7 years ago,still going strong

I had a sebo good vac. Mind you only lasted 14 months before it went fatally wrong. Got a dyson which I peronally think is better and took out a 3 year instant replacement cover for 20 quid cover accidental damage too. Oops may have to run it over soon.   Lol. No bags either so not that fuss to go through

Yes clinton I do strictly speaking the its an in fraction on the warranty. Plus if it did go ka putt you can pay 5o quid to dyson for a repair visit which covers all parts and labour

I'm not sure it's a good idea to show up at a job with a Dyson because everyone knows they are designed for domestic use, so I think there is a risk of it looking a bit amteurish if a professional shows up with one purely because you are not doing anything to the carpet that they can't do themselves. There's also the risk of insulting them because they may have vacced the carpet before you arrived. Show up with a pilelifter or some other powerful professional looking piece of kit and they immediately think their carpet is getting a real thorough vaccing way beyond what they can do themselves and therefore creates all the right vibes.

cheers joe although i have missed out by a £ or 2 when bidding on a few sebo's ranging from £50 to £100.
while some have looked abit scabby one or 2 looked like new! Fingers crossed i can get one from between 60 to £100! Has to be asebo!!! Ive also been told to look at the Orek, however I'm not sure if they have a twin motor or what the watt's are! (they also look like they may not last the test of time unlike a sebo)
I have a kirby atm... not worth the money although It will prob out live me!

I also like the sebo duo but again, i would have to purchase one second hand.... HOW MUCH BRAND NEW!

There's acouple of 2nd hand ones for sale via this shop in surrey http://www.a1cleaningsupplies.co.uk/ or least there were last week when I was in there.
Got to be honest and having tried them out on the shop carpet I don't rate these machine at all, and for matter neither did the guy showing us.....heavy, suction is nothing great and use of the hand tools would be troublesome too. So I passed on that idea.
There's nothing wrong with using a Dyson. If you go over the area correctly N-S E-W and you pull up more debris then you can educate the customer on how to do it correctly. I have seen customers who have a sebo at their homes but the evidence is there for all to see that they don't know how to vacuum properly, come to think about it I have also seen the odd Kirby or three and the same observations are made.
We're back to the 'it's not what you've got it's how you use it'

What Simon says is right IMO, I know my customers often make some sort of remark about the BS46, and with its newly fitted red brush, some are mistaken in thinking this is the actual clean itself as it lifts the pile and picks everything up in its tracks

I have a sebo Dart which is sold as the commercial version of the felix, and just as Colin said, I have had customers think that I have finished the job before the serious cleaning ahs even started. The Dart is slightly more manoverable than the BS machines with a 30cm brush, so it would cover less ground than the BS36/46 options.

Sebo said that the Felix, (domestic) and the Dar,t (commercial), are exactly the same machine, but the domestic one comes with a 3 or 5 year warranty, but the Dart with 1 year only, because of ots expected heavier usage.

I am very pleased with the machine, but still use Henrys for a lot of general vacuuming.
