so ive got a conny roof to do on monday and ive just bought a vikan sill brush unflagged/stiff... http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/brush-heads/vikan-stiff-hi-lo-brush.html

now im worried that it might scratch film covered self cleaning glass and plastic roofs?

Ive also got flagged "unger" (green colour brushes) if the vikan is no good?

also got an ex demo http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/brush-heads/unger-square-flagged-brush-pencil-jets.html for £2.

It would be rude not to buy it

Red one will be too stiff for glass (in my opinion) I've got one used it for 1 minute took it off (what a waste of £35!!!!) the pole and went back to my Super-Lite® Xtreme.

Unger one will be alright for glass, all be it a bit on the heavy side (got a couple of those in my shed gathering dust)

yeah i thought the vikan sill stiff brush would not be any good for windows, but i just wanted to know if it would scratch plasic and glass conservatory roofs?

GB ive done loads of conny roofs(polycarbon)with the vikan sill stiff brush and not scratched any!great for scrubbing the ingrained muck out of finials/ends of the roofs(near the gutters).i also find it good for fascia/soffit cleans.

i use both the vikan stiff sill and vikan rectangle brush specifically for conny roofs/fascias etc.yes ok they are a tad heavy but better scrubbing power than the supalites especially if they are really minging IMO.

i use the vikan rectangle for glass conny roofs if they are a one off dirty clean or my normal supalite if they are a regular 8/12 weekly clean.

i feel more confident to give it some good hard scrubbing now, would you use the vikan sill stiff brush head for clear self cleaning type conny roofs also?

i dont do fascias external gutter and sofits at the min because it seems like it would be too much hard work using w.f.p?!?!

But ive seen "big red monkeys" telescopic presure washer and might get one in the future for this type of work?!?!

i wouldnt personally use the vikan stiff sill brush on "self cleaning" glass as there is a coating on them and id be a tad worried about damaging it.the vikan mono would be ok IMO.

ive got a 5L pressure sprayer from b&q.you can adjust the nozzle so it squirts a  jet of water/tfr mix high into the air so you can direct it onto the roof without having to get up ladders to do it.

i could do with using an old pole and some hose for soffit cleans to get the mix exactly where i want it though.

The vikan sill brushs are great for cony roofs gutter and cladding cleaning a lot better than the Gardiners and the xtream imagine there good on regular window cleaning but come on there is more bristles on a tooth brush they were made for maintenance cleans

Daz, yeah thats what i thought about self cleaning conny roofs & windows i wouldnt trust the stiff vikan not to damage the coating layer!

Ive just put the stiff vikan on my 35 ft unger glass fiber pole tested for leaks and good to go! 

Gonna use fairy or evans hard suface cleaner at a strong mix in my bucket. then using t-bar applicator and trad pole wet the plastic corigated conny roof up good.

Then leave to soak (if the suns not out, drying it too qucikly that is!) then use custys outdoor water tap connected to my w.f.p and blast it at a reasonbly high preasure but not too high as to damage the roof of course.  and scrub it

then finally wash down using pure water for a clear steakless finish!  I'll do some before and after pics too to show you all how it went!

I use the red/green sill brush.... brilliant for the finals  and alot more coverage for the pannels

Get a 5L garden sprayer from B&Q and you wont regret it.... hard surface cleaner / tfr / similar will eat away at the applicators.

Wouldnt be without my sill brush & 5L sprayer for connys now
