Hi all,

This is my first post, been reading through the pages for a while though.

Can anyone advise what they make of the type of WFP trolley system that employs on onboard filter, i.e. you fill up the trolley with water and it filters straightaway.

I realise that volume may be a problem but i am seriously in the market for a trolley system and just wondered what people thought of this type of set-up, good, bad or indifferent?

They're ok. Only two downsides i see are a need to fill up regular so need access to a tap, and using the DI only method it could be expensive if your input water has a high TDS. In the right circumstances they'd be fine.

Could you not produce water at home and take 25L tanks with you?  Those systems sound handy but as has been said, you need a supply whilst your out and about and it's going to cost a fair bit to run.

You can build your own trolley with quality parts for about half the cost of that lot, then get an RO unit at home for a fair bit less than the total cost of that trolley.

My trolley has cost about £250 and if I had spent a little more time i think I could have knocked a fair bit more off the price.

The more I see of these systems the more I think about marketing one, quality parts brought in bulk or trade and they are making a serious profit.

I think I could get £150 profit out of my system if I sold it at 350 so have a think about building one    Happy to help if you get stuck.

In the early days all of us built our own trolleys, i still have and use mine. It must be easier now than it was then.

Using resin only without RO would cost me about £5+ a day here

OMG £500 for a sack trolley with a pump/battery/controller and 5m of hose??

Not even a pole??!! and look closely, if you want the di add another £79 so thats £578 + VAT = £693.60

don't touch it with a barge pole mate - thats the rip off of the month right there.

Build one yourself, trolley (£25), pump and controller £150, battery £50, DI vessel filled (11ltr) £125 plus 5m of hose £5 - total £355 incl VAT, more or less half the price and about an hours work.

Thanks for the advice gang, just an update i got one off ebay this week for £400 from a lovely fellow called Ken who chucked in a charger as well.

....I cleaned it all out, new resin loaded and wow a reading of 000 on the hand held meter - it's magic!

So my first WFP client is a house in Eastwood on Monday.... here goes nothing!

could off bought pure freedom trolley for a few quid more brand new
