Pole choice help please
« on: March 16, 2011, 12:42:10 pm »
The time is almost here for me - the vans booked in with Pure Freedom in 2 weeks and I just need a bit of guidance on pole choice from Gardiners.

I will be getting an 18ft standard pole from PF and then I want a longer pole for over connys and third/forth storey buildings.

1/Do I go CLX 27 or SLX 25/30? I know theres obviously a difference in weight, but whats gonna be best for everyday domestic use in the main with a bit of 3rd storey commercial?

2/Do you use a seperate brush for first cleans or your superlite?

Thanks, Steve

Cancel the pole from PF as you could get a clx for the same price, I dont have any clx poles so cant comment but if your wanting too do town houses youll need a 25ft pole ive got the 25ft slx, 4th storey youll need 35ft slx, how much have you got too spend on poles...

Ive got around £5/600 to spend.

I was going to use the PF pole as a bit of a back up and switch the brush heads for first cleans and connys/gutters.

What dya reckon?

as advised ditch pf pole buy a 22ft clx for most of your work and would definately recommend spending the extra for a slx on anything bigger. saying that i tend to use my 30ft slx over the 22 ft clx all day.

Fibreglass poles are heavier and because they are bendy you lose the "energy" in your cleaning action.
Carbon composite poles are better.
Carbon fibre poles are lighter and stiffer and although more expensive well worth the money.
Ditch the purefreedom fibreglass pole idea and use the money for something better.
Gardiners make very good poles but if you also look at other suppliers you can compare the lengths, weights and prices of the poles and decide which would suit you.

Just get the 27ft clx or 25ft slx and use it for everything, you wont need anything longer than that unless you have any taller commercial work.

CANCEL the pole from pure freedom, you will be wasting you money, if you want an 18ft pole get the clx

I would go with a full carbon SLX.

Did you know you can split an SLX pole. i.e. you could buy a 35ft, take 2 base sections off to use at 25ft for your everyday work & just add the other sections as & when needed. Just buy the relevant butt cap to fit the section where you split it. ;)

One pole does it all.
