Ubik 2000 dilution
« on: March 14, 2011, 01:53:10 pm »
Hello guys,

I've got a sign to clean in the morning on one of my Commercials.
I've purchased some Ubik 2000 as I have read some good things about this chemical on here.
My question is, what rate should I dilute it at?
I have read the manufacturers .pdf on the product but the dilution rate is a bit vague, all they specify is that it 'can' be diluted with upto 200 parts water giving you 1000 litres of cleaning product from a 5 litre bottle!
Obviously, if I dilute it up to this rate it will be like p*ss and have zero cleaning power!

Advise is needed please.

usually dilution rates are conservative to say the least on tfr/other cleaning chemicals.i usually put twice as much as the recommendations and that works for me.never had any problems! ;D ;D ;D

ive got a 5L PRESSURE SPRAYER now so ill just be putting a glug or two in then fill with water!!

Thanks Dazmond, I knew this was going to get technical ;D
I was thinking of diluting some in one 25ltr container in my trolley, giving it a 'scrub' then change the container over to a fresh one, then rinse. Sound like a plan?

i think some guys on here do that phil but id rather keep my trolley chemical free.i only use pure or tap water through my trolley.

pressure sprayer was 15 quid from b and q and it squirts so high so you can get them conny roofs/ fascias etc without having to dunk your brush and apply it or risk contaminating/damaging your pump on trolley by having chemicals in your barrels.

Never thought of that Dazmond! Thank you.
I have got a 'back-pack' sprayer but I was worried about reaching the sign with it.
I'll give it a go in the morning.

Thanks again.

A local janitorial suppler should sell it, we get ours for £8.00 and should last us six months, I think it just about pays for itself  ;D ;) ;D

As for dilutions I just pour in as much as I think I need then add water  ;D (very technical me ;D)

My mistake, I got mine from The Cleaning Warehouse on Feebay ;)

It was in amongst this lot somewhere: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=ubik+2000&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I got 20 litres, that should see me out ;D

Hi Guys

Ubic2000 is a fantastic product, but if you get it on the glass you must rinse it off straight away or you will destroy the glass.

I have 20lt of this on the way but am now worried about damaging the glass. I was going to use it diluted for conny roofs etc. Is this a bad idea?
