jet washing decking!
« on: March 14, 2011, 10:20:38 am »
i jet washed my girlfriends decking the weekend just gone.borrowed a domestic one off my dad.put down a solution of decking cleaner/water and scrubbed away with a long stiff brush then jet washed it!absolute nightmare to clean!

it took me 8 hours to get it looking  clean!!

i found it much harder than window cleaning as i was bent over a fair bit due to the size of the lance!mega neck and back ache by the end of the day!!its never been cleaned in over 5 years though.

just wondered any of you do this type of jet washing and what do you use for decking to get them clean in good time?

im not planning on adding jet washing to my services by the way!! ;D ;D ;D

the jet wash was so powerful i had to be careful not to strip the wood off!!

hi dazmond     i am glad you put your weekend to good use
NOW PLEASE RE-OIL ALL WASHED WOOD asap or when bone dry
i hope you did not wash any end grain wood
how big was the decking area that took eight hours to clean
in less than 8hrs i would expect to wash decking the size of at least 2 tennis courts
i own a "jet-wash"unit but i do not JET-WASH  i am a flat surface washer
i do not pretent to be a window cleaner  but if the customer is reasonable i might rinse the windows down

hi dazmond when i say oil i dont mean engine oil     use a good decking oil
by all means dont bother to re-oil   but you will knock 5 years of life of the decking  and it will ROT
