might sound daft but go to your local paper ...

i say this because i remember reading an article in my local paper within the business section.

it was about a wc who had so many customers ask him about a good reliable gardening service that he started to do this and even employed his wife in the end to help out...

he was in the paper again 4 months later - winning some local award for his business....

i have had a few old people praising me for jobs ive done and saying they are going to recommend me to everyone!
Im thinking about asking them to right to the local paper as they have a service with a smile section recommending local buisinesses!

unless your thinking of employing someone you wont get time to do all these things on your own, window cleaning is so easy to pick work up you'l be to busy in the end if your doing a good job

i prefer to keep things simple by having lots of regular maintenance window cleaning with add on jobs like conny roof/fascia/soffit cleans. usually these add ons are done in the spring and summer months when i can fit more in.

i think sticking to a core business is the best way for me otherwise id gonna be running all over the place with all the different equipment  needed for the different jobs.

doing my girlfriends garden every other week in the spring and summer months is enough for me!! ;) ;D ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

i started out doing windows & gardening and other 'odd jobs' and it didn't work for me, within weeks it became apparent that i could not schedule window cleaning and gardening together as people wanted things like grass cutting every week or every other and windows 4 wky.

i dropped the gardening side and pass on the number of a good custy i have and stick to windows with the regular add ons of coony roofs - gutter clearing etc...

if you have another bod able to do gardening then go for it..

Although it is something that does not interest me in the least, i think carpet cleaning is a good add on, If my mate comes working with me either in partnership or as seperate businesses  but working together, I think we may go down that route and he can push that side (freekin hate cleaning stuff like that). But another one is pressure washing, I would not mind that. I think it is the way if there is more than one of you.

 hi
all as above it is quite a different discipline to cleaning not a natural bolt on as carpets or driveways.

Also what are you thinking of charging. your windows should be doing you 30 or 40 an hour minimum.

try charging that hourly rate for lawn cutting no one is going to wear it.
