advise on used TM pls!
« on: March 13, 2011, 07:33:57 pm »
would appreciate your thoughts...

I've been keeping my eye open for a used Truck Mount. I've found one or two but price seems to vary making it hard to get a good idea what is and is'nt a good second hand deal.

I have as Im sure a few other's have noticed a second hand Dirtseeker 90 on ebay.. link below
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIRTSEEKER-90-TRUCK-MOUNTED-CARPET-CLEANING-MACHINE-/280642832400?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item41579dc810

Is somthing like this a good investment? One or two things Im not so sure on..

1, On the machine is states Hot Water recycling system. I take it it works on the same principal as the CRF?
2,  Is 16 Hp considered low compared with more up to date TM's?
3, With a max of 200 foot of hose, does anyone know roughly what CFM might be?

Any advies here would be gr8!! cheers.  :-\

Personally, unless your pretty handy with the mechanical side of things, I wouldnt touch it with a bargepole. I have never heard of the machine and I`m sure there are no distributors of the machine over here. If I were you, I would keep on the look out for a secondhand prochem, hydramaster or woodbridge. You could probably pick up a hydramaster spitfire for pretty good money. One thing though, tm`s do go wrong from time to time and you need to get it sorted pretty quickly which is where the likes of Hydramaster etc come into their own.

Cheers guys! must admit, over the past few months looking around.. have not come across Dirtseeker.
I'm handy with porties Ive had in the past but TM seems a whole diff' ball game.  Will have a look on their web site. must admit, it is a proffered option depending on price! Where are all the used TM's when ya want one huhh lol.

No problem with 16hp engines, I had a Prowler with a 15hp engine and the current Prowler available in Britain and proving very popular is a 13hp engine.
Smaller engines have smaller blowers but that doesnt mean they dont do a good job - they do. The stronger the blower the longer the hose run. 200' is good if you want to do domestic and small commercial. You pay more money for larger blowers-bigger engine models.
Keep your porty as a backup.

Have a word with Nick at Solutions Cornwall or take a look at the Magma from Cleansmart Nottingham.
