Wondered how many have a backpack to supplement van system for those windows / properties too far from van?

i have and i tend to use the backpack most of the time,i have 8 metres of hose off it and find it very easy!

I have a DIY trolley, but it only gets used a couple of times a month, but its handy when i do want it.

But i want to make up diy trolley as spare, any tips handy, i know what pump, controller battery etc,

but it's the trolley and battery box that's a bit tricky; how have you fixed these bits to your trolley Lee and can i as what trolley you have?

now got supa-lite dt 15degree brush with 40 degree fan-jets on a 22 clx pole;

2 x 100 metre reels are usually ok.

Use backpacks for difficult jobs

 we use one it helps. its good when you have a small house on its own, we have a 10meter lengh of hose made up, we park outside. use the 10meter from the van to do the front, and one lad runs round the back with backpack.
 
 it saves time on getting the reels out and winding back in again. also useful for fiddley windows.

 only downside is filling time on a 100psi pump still takes nearly 2 minutes to fill. we carry 5x25litre barrels and pour it in its quicker. you will also struggle to get a whole house done with 18 litres, so you can drop a barrel there as well so make sure the house gets finished.

My son uses our backpack most of the time now. He carries a 25litre container in the van which he uses to fill his backpack. He then uses the van pump with the Varistream controller turned down quite low to refill the container while he works around the back of the house. He's got it off to a 't' now. If he is caught with half a barrel of water and an empty backpack he will just fill his pack with that and increase the pump speed a bit to catch up while he cleans a few more windows.

I got a trolley from b&q for £20, Craig at polar brite sorted me out a flow controller, and rich (p @ f) sorted me an old pump, got a battery off eBay and a caravan battery box to put the pump and battery in.

I will post some pics later this evening I'm out all day.

Don't think you can sit water barrel ontop of battery box; as it might flatten it (probably wrong though)

The barrel is fine on the batt box, they are strong the barrel is just held on with a bungee cord.

Back packs are handy for awkward, mazey sort of jobs.. I mean how annoying is it when the hose gets caught on a wall or bush etc.

agree, is a bit time consuming, I'm thinking of fitting a second tank outlet or dual tap so I can be filling whilst using the reel and pump for the fronts.
