Door knocked if in ... posted leaflet if out.

Got the following all virtually next door to each other

25 quid - 8 weekly
25 quid - 8 weekly
24 quid - 4 weekly
14 quid - 8 weekly
15 quid - 4 weekly

Im well happy !!

Yes you have, go on try knocking on 10 doors when you're dropping the leaflets and see what happens. 

We always door knock and then leave a leaflet if they're not in.

Ian, that's a tremendous response, you always think that the big houses will already have a window cleaner when in reality they often don't.  You've just added the best part of £1000 to your annual business in a couple of hours.

the 25 quidders have got 18 windows and connys plus usual doors but all windows close together so will be fast and easy to clean

i also canvassed today,knocked about 30 doors,maybe half were out and got 5 jobs totalling £50 in 1 hour

I've never done it before but I pressume it would be something like: "Good morning/afternoon sir/madam. I'm a local window cleaner and I was just working in the area and thought I'll ask if you would like your windows cleaned?"

There answer will be YES, NO or HAVE YOU GOT A LEAFLET

well done ian,top stuff ive been picjking upsome top work from leaflet drops and canvassing and have recently quoted some very large commercial jobs which im waiting on!

No, don't say "Do you want a window cleaner?"  It's a closed question and they will invariably come back with "NO" because they haven't a clue who you are.

Introduce yourself, tell them what you do, tell them the areas that you already clean in, tell them how long you have been going, tell them how you clean windows, tell them how often you come around, explain the process, do you wipe sills, etc?  

Then finally if they are interested, ask them if you could give them a quote for cleaning their windows.  

Do the quote, tell them verbally but alsow write the price on one of your cards or flyers and hand it to them.  

Be ready to answer if they ask when will it be done, how can they pay, etc, take names, address, postcode and telephone number or even email address.

ive tried all the ''im a local window cleaner expanding my round in this area'' etc etc but now juse use the ''Do you need a window cleaner ?''

I just show them a leaflet and say
Hi was wondering do you have a window cleaner in my logo'd uniform!
if they say no,i say "can i interest you in a free quote?"
if they say yes i then pass them the leaflet explaining how every door frame sill and window is cleaned everytime!
Give them a quote and then take there contact number and book them in!
